On this page I will explain how I successfully track, record and gather the evidence needed to bust a suspected cheating spouse. We will use the case history of Jazmine, one of my more recent cases, as an example.

Step one: The client.
A client arrives suspecting that their spouse is cheating on them, and they request I track and gather photographic, sonic and video evidence against them. I go through a complete history with the client- why they think their spouse is cheating, where they think they are cheating, and places they frequent.
From these three main questions I can make a basis for a proceeding with a case.

Step two: Using any photos or video supplied by the client, I begin my stakeout. If it seems that the suspected cheater is cheating somewhere else than in the house when the client is away, I will hang out at a distance and watch the area at designated times when the suspect is most likely to show up.

Step three: ID the suspect and take initial photographs. You might get lucky and actually get the suspect with his or her lover, but chances are the first time around you will only get photos of the client. This is good because it officially establishes whereabouts at a given time.

Step four: Gathering initial hard evidence, or as I like to call it, “the waiting game.” Here you want to get photos and perhaps some video of the suspect in public with the potential lover. From here you can ascertain where they go when they do their business, so following them at a discreet distance is a must. Obviously if you blow your cover,  you’re screwed, so keep it cool and get the photos you can at a distance.

Step Five: Getting the goods. You’ve tracked the suspect to various locations and you have determined where said person is meeting their lover and where they are going to do the deed. You know when they do this so your next step is to get inside and set up your hidden survelliance cameras. This is quite easy if it’s the client’s house, but if its a hotel for instance, you’re going to have to be one sneaky son of a bitch.

First, you will have to get a room in the hotel. Then, you will have to access the suspected room most often used by the suspect. In most cases the lovers will go back to the same room if possible, which makes it a bit easier to plant the hidden cameras. In this case it turned out the cheating wife acquired a sum a money from her husband under false pretenses and used the money to rent out an apartment for her deadbeat boyfriend.

This made things a little trickier as I had to “access” the apartment to plant the spy cams when they weren’t around which gave me a limited window of opportunity.

Step six: Planting the hidden survelliance cameras. You are looking to get hard, unmistakable evidence of foul play involving your suspect, so you damn well better get clear video of them in the act of having sex or serious foreplay. Ascertain the room they most likely screw in and plant the cameras in a way that you have a high likelyhood of getting clear face shots of the suspect in action. A minimum of two cameras is required, and I often use four just to be on the safe side.

So these cameras are HIDDEN right? You have to make sure there is no way your suspect or their lover is going to find the cameras, or the mini-computer box they are sending the video signal to. Motion trigger devices are the best IMO, simply because they start recording when there is motion in the room and they shut off after X amount of seconds if the motion stops. If you have a box that can record 200 hours of video you should be in great shape.

Step seven: Plant a listening device (bug). Once this device has been hidden securely you can simply sit back in your discreetly parked car and listen for any potential action. Stake out the site and monitor the audio when there is the highest likelyhood both of them will be there. Chances are within a day or two you will hear them having sex and you probably have your video evidence.

Step eight: Returning to the scene of the crime. You need to retrieve your equipment, but before you break everything down you should do a quick scan of one of the camera feeds to make sure it recorded what you need. Do it quickly and get the hell out of there, leaving no clue and no trail.

That’s it. The only thing left is gathering the data and presenting it to the client. Your job is done.
